This work is focused on the Haenyeos (제주의 바다여인들) in South Korea. During 30 days we participated in their lives and portrayed them in their daily routines. Our focus was set on the two villages Hyeopjae and Gwideok in the Western part of Jeju Island. Haenyeos dive without oxygen for sea food which is then sold to gourmet restaurants abroad. The work of the Haenyeos is an ancient procedure and has always been exclusively performed by women.
